{"id":32,"date":"2014-12-04T21:59:36","date_gmt":"2014-12-04T21:59:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sacredheartmorriston.org.uk\/wordpress\/?page_id=32"},"modified":"2026-07-12T11:36:35","modified_gmt":"2026-07-12T11:36:35","slug":"rooms-for-hire-at-the-sacred-heart-centre-make-a-booking","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/sacredheartmorriston.org.uk\/?page_id=32","title":{"rendered":"Rooms for Hire at the Sacred Heart Centre &#8211; make a booking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Sacred Heart Centre<\/strong> is the former Soar Chapel building located opposite Sacred Heart Church, at the junction of Soar Terrace and Pentrepoeth School Road in Morriston, Swansea SA6 6HX.<\/p>\n<p>Facilities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Main hall <em>(floorspace inside pillars 26ft x 25 ft, plus 6ft additional space on three sides under gallery plus stage area; includes folding tables, stackable chairs, excellent 2 manual electric action pipe organ, ideal for concerts and recitals) <\/em><\/li>\n<li>Back\u00a0hall <em>(floorspace 23ft x 33ft plus stage area; includes folding tables, stackable chairs)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Upstairs\u00a0seminar room 1\u00a0<em>(seats 15-20 in committee format, projector screen and projector can be hired)\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>NB currently undergoing refurbishment<\/li>\n<li>Upstairs seminar room 2\u00a0<em>(can be used for group discussion\/breakout sessions, or can seat 15 people around tables in boardroom format)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>fully equipped kitchen<em>\u00a0 <\/em><\/li>\n<li>toilet facilities <em>(includes separate male, female and disabled access)<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The various spaces can be hired separately or together\u00a0as required. The Centre is in regular use by Parish and is also very popular with local community groups, in particular for one-off hirings for family celebrations such as children&#8217;s birthday parties, concerts and performances. Please note however, late evening parties are not permitted. The building is ultimately the parish church hall, so activities taking place in the building must respect the Catholic nature of the premises.<\/p>\n<p>Please see the other articles on the website for details of <a href=\"https:\/\/sacredheartmorriston.org.uk\/?page_id=37\">forthcoming events<\/a>, and photos and videos of <a href=\"https:\/\/sacredheartmorriston.org.uk\/?page_id=40\">previous events<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that on certain days of the year, the Centre is reserved for parish use, see the <a href=\"https:\/\/sacredheartmorriston.org.uk\/?page_id=10010\">room availability<\/a> page for weekly timetables and dates when the various rooms are pre-booked.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Room hire rates for regular or one-off use:<\/strong><br \/>\nPlease email sacredheartcentremorriston@gmail.com for more details.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please ensure the time slot booked includes the arrival of caterers\/entertainment, and clearing up\/collection afterwards so that we know when to open up and close the building for you so that Centre volunteer staff can ensure they are available to meet you.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please be mindful that other groups may be using other parts of the building and restrict your use only to areas booked.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>The building is to be left clean and tidy as you found it. Any mess or damage will incur additional fees to make good.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Please note that all black-bag rubbish must be taken with you. It is recommended you plan your event with recycling in mind.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hire of kitchen:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For anything more than basic tea and coffee preparation, a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is required for use of the kitchen for food preparation.<\/li>\n<li>Please note that extended cooking will attract a higher hire charge due to the cost of energy at the present time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tea and coffee can be made available for an additional charge, please enquire for details.<\/p>\n<p>Use of any electrical equipment on the premises must be noted on your booking form, and may only be used with permission. All electrical equipment must have a current PAT label.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Organ in main hall:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Organists! You are welcome to book the main hall to practice on the Centre organ.
